Kyle F. Dobiszewski, Ph.D.

Kyle F. Dobiszewski, Ph.D. is an educator, biomedical engineer, and former BS/MD program director who founded Archimedes Advising in 2024 to demystify the BS/MD application process for applicants and parents alike. He has been involved with BS/MD admissions since 2014- first as an admissions committee member, then as an undergraduate BS/MD program director, and now as an admissions consultant.

After completing his doctoral degree in biophysics and biomaterials engineering in 2013, Dr. Dobiszewski was invited to join the BS/MD undergraduate admissions committee at his alma mater, the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). He served on this committee in a voluntary capacity while working full-time as a R&D engineer in the medical diagnostics industry. A few years later, he was recruited to become an Associate Director at the NJIT Honors College, with main responsibilities being management and administration of the college’s BS/MD programs, as well as development and administration of research programs. In this role, he led the admissions committee that evaluated NJIT applicants for accelerated (7-year) BS/MD programs at two U.S. (LCME-accredited) medical schools: Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS) and Ponce Health Sciences University (PHSU). Additionally, he managed BS/MD programs at two foreign medical schools: Saint George’s University (SGU) and American University of Antigua (AUA), the BS/DMD program with Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM), the BS/OD program with SUNY College of Optometry, among others. As the BS/MD program director, Dr. Dobiszewski revamped the curriculum and culture of NJIT’s BS/MD programs, drastically increasing enrollment and retention. Additionally, Dr. Dobiszewski served as a member of NJIT’s University Pre-Health Committee, which is responsible for guiding traditional undergraduate students through the medical school admissions process. As a result, Dr. Dobiszewski is an expert in medical school admissions strategy for both high school (BS/MD) and undergraduate students.

As COVID-19 raged in 2021, Dr. Dobiszewski made the difficult decision to leave academia and return to the medical diagnostics industry in a R&D capacity. While this work was important in our collective battle against the pandemic, Dr. Dobiszewski soon realized that he missed the satisfaction of working with students. As a result, Dr. Dobiszewski began regularly contributing to the r/bsmd community on Reddit. Due to an explosion of interest in his BS/MD admissions consulting services, Dr. Dobiszewski established Archimedes Advising, LLC in 2024 to offer consulting on a full-time basis.

Dr. Dobiszewski is unique among BS/MD admissions consultants in that he has actually made BS/MD admissions decisions as a program director, so he understands the admissions process from the school’s perspective. He has personally reviewed thousands of real-world BS/MD applications and conducted hundreds of applicant interviews. Dr. Dobiszewski provides his clients with a snapshot into the minds of the admissions committee members that will be evaluating their applications. This level of insight allows his clients to create application profiles that allow them to stand out and sway the admissions committee. As a result, he is among the most insightful and experienced BS/MD admissions consultants and his prior clients’ successes- including one applicant admitted to TEN BS/MD programs and several clients admitted to Brown PLME- proves this out.
